Demka Reel

Its high capacity spool is made of a single piece of clear polycarbonate (allowing seeing remaining line) and a one piece tubular mounting bracket. It is tangle free: the spool is totally contained between the side plates and mounting bracket. Also features foldable handle and quick release drag system which allows adjusting tension, and does neither auto-lock when retrieving nor self release when the fish pulls. The spool polycarbonate material makes this reel extremely resistant while still being light weight, not affecting speargun buoyancy. All non synthetic components are corrosion resistant. It comes in two mounting bracket diameters: 1 1/8” (28 mm) or 1 ¼” (30 mm) barrel exterior diameter. To attach the reel is necessary to remove the speargun handle.

Shaft guide

Offered for two different barrel diameters: 1 1/8” (28 mm) or 1 ¼” (30 mm). It is secured in place by a stainless steel Allen screw. Piece length is 2 3/8” and elevates shaft 1/8” from barrel.

Demka handle and mechanism

This mechanism is well known for been capable to handle incredible amounts of band pressure safely; it has been tested to resist up to 1100 Newtons (one Newton is the amount of force required to give a 1 kg mass an acceleration of 1 m/s2). All its internal components as well as the line release are made of hardened stainless steel. The line release is located on the side to facilitate using a reel; has a highly visible and comfortable white soft rubber grip and its safety is thumb operated. The handle fits into European standard 1” (25 mm) interior diameter barrels. Inserting section length is 2 5/16” and has a sealing O ring to prevent water leaking inside the barrel. I can be secure to the barrel by using screws or a pin thru a 3/16” pre-drilled hole.
